Soon and very soon....

WE'RE GOING TO MEXICO!!!

Here's the place we'll be staying. We can't wait to go!

It'll just be a nice time to get away and take a breather before this year really gets under way. We're not too sure what the year olds for us but we know change is bound to happen, so a nice getaway will start the year off well. Any takers???=)

Hudson

Well once again, we took Hudson to the vet this week. He was starting to get some hives on his feet and his head. I thought maybe he was just allergic to his food so i went to the pet store to change it. The lady there suggested i see the vet first cause it's odd for him to start getting these hives if he's been on the same food since November. I took Hudson the next day and the vet did a skin sample. It turns out Hudson has Demodex. It's a mite that lives in his hair folicles that eats at his skin, causing the rash look. Unfortunately if not treated Hudson would pretty much loose all his hair and would not be feeling so healthy. So we forked out another hundred dollars for this pretty toxic medicine. Hopefully after 21 days he'll be over it and we won't need to see the vet until neutering time. But check out the pictures bellow, he's getting so big for being four months old....weighing in at 45 pounds!

The Vernon Winter Carnival!

Here they are...the long awaited pictures of Melissa being crowned Princess Silver Star the 47th! We had such a blast at her proclamation, as well hanging out with her on my birthday playing some games! We're all so proud and excited for her!
Doesn't she look gorgeous???
This is Melissa answering her impromptu question...which she did awesome at. The question was; What three attributes do you have that would best help represent Vernon...or something along those lines.

This picture was taken moments before the announcement!

Christmas in Vernon!

Because the Weglo family was spread out over Canada for the holidays, we decided to have a belated Christmas day on January the 13. It was extremely relaxing with tons of gift giving and good times. It was nice to have Laura home from Bonneville, but we sure missed her husband Josh who had to stay in Alberta to work. Jason and Darcie were up for the holidays as well with their dog Emmett who had a blast with Hudson. It was a great weekend! These two trouble makers had such a great time!!

We spent a lot of time working on Sudoku puzzles!!!

Brad, of course his favorite, WINNIPEG JETS!

Shelley got a day at the spa!

The day "after Christmas" January 14, we got to see Melissa and Kyla perform at the Queen Silver Star Excellence Program, which Melissa is a participating in.

And last, we must throw another picture of Hudson in there. He' s getting so big, weighing in at 35 pounds.

Life...

Well I thought i would update you on our lives since we're been home from manitoba. It was hard to get settled back into routine but nice at the same time. We could not believe how much Hudson has grown. WOW! I'll have to post some pictures because he's getting so big...and still growing. On that note, this weekend we're celebrating Christmas with my family, so Hudson has had plenty of playing time with my brothers dog Emmett. On Thursday Hudson was so lethargic we were a little worried but just waived it off because he had just had his rabies shot the day before and just assumed he was exhausted from playing for hours with Emmett. So then yesterday morning i phoned my parents to see how he was doing because he's just been sleeping there so my sister could play with him during the day as Brad and I were both at work, and they said he was still qute lethargic and there seemed to be some swelling on his chin area. So i decided on my lunch hour to go and check on him and by then the swelling was worst so i decided to take him in to the vet to get it checked out. Well thank goodness my sister Laura came with me because i hated it. The vet had to sedate Hudson to find out exactly what was wrong and called me in to look at him. He had some serious swelling on his jaw and the vet said it could either be a bone fracture, a bone infection or bone cancer. Well i faught back the tears with laura and waited for the x-rays and thank the Lord he has a cyst on his jaw that was probably activated when he was playing with Emmett which caused the swelling not anything too serious. So 275.00 dollars later Hudson is on antibiotics and anti-infammatory's. He's back to himself now but the swelling is hopefully going to go down some more. It's weird how one day he can be totally fine then then next sedated and getting xrays for possible bone infection. I don't want to go through that again.

As well this week i was at home frying a egg on my lunch hour and put a lid on it to stop it from spitting and let it sit for a bit came back took off the lid and it poped on me leaving me with a few very bad burns that turned to blisters. It was pretty painful btu thankfully then blisters are gone and now i'm just hoping they won't turn into scars.

So yeah...it's been a crazy past couple of weeks since we've been home from Manitoba, but hopefully Hudson will start to feel better and we can get through January with no more accidents or hospital visits.

Christmas in Manitoba!!

We left for Manitoba on December 23 and returned on New Years Day. We had a great time with tons of food and great visits. We played hockey on an backyard rink and brought in the New Year dancing the night away at a wedding. Check out all the pictures.
The first one is all of us on Christmas Eve.

This is some pictures we took of a farm in Cartwright Manitoba. That Bull was MASSIVE!

These are some shots of the remote cars Brad's dad Harold got for Christmas, it sure was entertaining. Underneath is some shots of Brad's cousin who plays for a Junior team in Manitoba. It was a good game!

Here is Brad and his cousins out on the backyard rink...what a blast they had!

These last few are from the wedding of Brad's friend. He was the best man....it was a GREAT way to bring in the New Year! Happy New Year everyone!

Sick Day

I'm at home sick today hoping to catch up on some rest. Brad and I both have caught this nasty cold and it's the pits. Luckily i still had a sick day to use up. Hopefully i'll get up the motivation to clean the house a little but staying in bed and sleeping seems more desirable to me. Hope you all have a great day!

I've learned that sweeping is a lost cause with Hudson around!! ( but as you can see further down the page, atleast i got some perogies made while he was sleeeping!!)

Hudsons First Christmas!!!

We took Hudson with us to go and cut down our Christmas tree this year. It was so much fun and Hudson loved it. He was so tired once it was all over he was asleep within a minute when we got back in the car to go home. Here's a few shots of the good time. I'll post pictures of the actual tree decorating later.
This is a Hudson size tree!

Yeah I know, I look pretty hot!!

Lazy Day....

Well last night it snowed close to a foot of snow...and for vernon that's pretty good. When i was young we used to get a ton of snow, we could even make igloos, but not so much anymore. Yesterday it snowed all day and my brother down on the coast got even more. I'm sure Teresa got a ton as well. Anywho...i had the day booked off for some time so i could get some things done, but because the roads are slick i'm homebound. I'm hoping Hudson will fall asleep so i can wash all the floors and then get some baking done.

Hudson loves to play in the snow. Last night when brad was shovelling snow he was digging his cute little nose right into the snow. He sure is growing fast though. I think we're going to take pictures once a week cause he getting big fast. Which i guess explains why he sleeps so much.

Well...i hope i can get some things accomplish today, although i just feel like staying in my pj's all day.

Life

Well we still haven't gotten our car back from the autobody. It's been three weeks. I guess there were a lot of parts to replace. I'm learning that Patience is a virtue. Things are getting a little exciting around here though....we may be getting a puppy. I don't think it will look like a puppy for long because it's a Doberman Pincher with Saint Bernard. Yeah....BIG! So when we go see them i hope they look more like a Saint Bernard than a Doberman....we'll see. As well Chrismas is coming...which means Brad and I are flying to Manitoba. We're super excited about that. It always seems more like Christmas when you get snowed in and the main highway gets shut down. You just stay in and watch movies and eat, eat, eat!! Anywho, I'll let you all know how it goes with the puppy tomorrow. Here's some cute pictures.

I hope our kids don' t take after their father this way.

Pretty crazy stuff. I think we'll stick to puppies for now...then take on the challenge of kids later on down the road=)

So Cute!!

This is my brother Jason and his fiance Darcie's dog, Emmett. Jason and Darcie are the hugest animal lovers in the world, and Emmett is perfect for them...yes..he is a pitbull BUT he is the most cutest dog ever and he always has to cuddle. As well I should say he's the most well mannered and trained as well. Check him out!!(In fact he's convinced us to start to look for a dog) As you can tell by the last picture they love all animals.
