October

We've had a busy October, with lot's of change. We were blessed to spend Thanksgiving holiday with my side of the family. We went to Calgary to pick up Shelley from the airport Thursday night, met my parents there as well, and crashed in a hotel and woke up early to pick up Jason at the Edmonton airport for 9am. Then we headed to Lloydminster to show the house, and then up to Bonnyville for supper. Those days were kinda crazy...but the rest of the weekend, we put our feet up! Unfortunately, just before the weekend, Brad had lost his job...he wasn't enjoying it very much anyways, and the job description had changed a lot over the last few months. He was on call a lot, and away from home a lot. So it was for the better...however, that does put us in a sticky situation for Brad to get a job before the house is ready, so that we can still get the house...SO, YOUR PRAYERS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED. (on a side note, he did have an interview this past Thursday, and it looks good)
Isaac and Autumn having a bath together.

The next weekend, was promise keepers, which Brad was helping put on. It was a successfull event with close to 300 men attending. As well, we dedicated Autumn at church on Sunday. It was great to see so many other families on the stage commiting to raise their child in the way of the Lord and asking the church to support them.
The following weekend, I went to Edmonton with Laura and Liam, to meet mom and Shelley, who were travelling to West Edmonton Mall with the youth group. We had some fun shopping, going on rides(cause the kids were free with an adult, who also got to ride free!!) and enjoyed the waterpark. We were all pretty exhausted. And this weekend we are carving a pumpkin and making cupcakes(those pictures are still to come). We took a drive to the new house to take a look, and were excited to see the basement, it's so big!!
This is the view of the basement as you come down the stairs...hard to see but there's so much space to the left too....there's our bathtub sitting in the middle!
Even with a very busy October, we are constantly reminded of the promises of God, and continue to trust Him as Brad's looks for a good job, and as we continue to build our home.
"IN HIS HEART A MAN PLANS HIS COURSE,
BUT THE LORD DETERMINES HIS STEPS"
PROVERBS 16:9

oh....and it wouldn't be October in Alberta without snow....

Beautiful Autumn Weather

This is why we named our girl Autumn. It has been such beautiful weather, the leaves are changing colour, and it's such fresh, prairie air blowing around. We love this time of the year. We love it even MORE this year, because our new home is being built. So, we decided this would be a weekend that we would spend outside, and take in this awesome weather.

Friday morning started with Isaac going to the dentist. It didnt' go over very well, but atleast he's getting use to it. We did some running around, checked out the new Winners store here in Lloyd and have some nice lunch at Tim Hortons and then headed to the Petting Zoo. It was a blast. I couldn't believe the animals they had there.

After the zoo, we headed to the park to let Hudson enjoy the weather too, than we headed to get a movie and found some cool cars in the parking lot. We had to take a picture for Isaac, than headed home for dinner and a movie. With all tha fresh air, Isaac went to sleep pretty good.

This morning, Brad let me sleep in, which was great! We had some french toast, and headed out the door, anxious to drive to the new house and see the changes. We couldn't believe how much has been done.

Love my new front door!

And the weekend isn't even over yet.....

Today is a day for getting things done!

It's rainy outside, and it's been rainy since yesterday afternoon. Therefore, it's an indoor day for laundry, blogs, cleaning and naps!!
Here is the view, looking north west, as your turn into our driveway.

As you drive down the driveway you begin to see the front of the house and garage.
Notice the 10 foot overhang. 8 feet for the veranda and 2 feet for overhang over the veranda.
This is the view from the back of the house and garage on the right. We got some skates from some friends and they fit isaac pretty good, so at 7:15 last night we headed to the public skating to try them out!
who's more happy?
He did great!
By the end of the night, Isaac was pushing and holding himself up! We were pretty proud parents!
And to end the blog off with something sweet!
Autumn is wearing an old outfit of Shelleys....over 30 years old! I gotta say, she looks pretty cute!

In awe....

We can't believe how fast our home is coming together. In the next two weeks you will see the roof on, windows in and the start to shingles and siding. It's crazy! We're getting soooo excited and ready to get out of the city and into the country!

On the other hand, we are frustrated with the sell of our condo. After a few counter offers, we had settled to the buyer's offer with a subject for possession date. However, they have decided to go with another place that they were looking at. So, back at square one! BUT, we have faith that God will see this house in his timing and for the right price.
The sun was setting so these pictures look a little yellow....but here is the front of the house.
Here is the view from the corner of where the garage will be. Here we are as you come in from the garage door and walk in to the kitchen to your left and the living room to your right. Down the hall are the three bedrooms and bathroom.
Here is Isaac and his new buddy Nate (our builder's grandson). These boys are exactly a year apart and are sure to become great buddies.
Brad looking out the back porch door.
We will be posting a lot more pictures in the next couple weeks, as the house progresses!!!

It's harvest time here on the prairies, so Isaac got to ride a swather. He enjoyed it, and as you can see looked pretty calm, as if he's done this his whole life :)

Autumn, is growing so much...and too fast. She is now lovin' her exersaucer and is always smilin'. So cute!
Now here's on old picture of Isaac in the exersaucer right around the same age. Do they look alike or what?
Here's her model pose ;)

A tug on my heart

Isaac's prayer: "Dear Jesus, thank you for this day. Thank you for daddy, mommy, isaac and autumn, and thank you for Tim Hortons".

He makes my heart so full :)

Here comes the basement!

Isaac, Autumn and I drove out to the site yesterday to get some new pictures. It was very exciting to drive down our own new driveway, and to see the basement walls up. The excavator was digging the trences for Geothermal that we are having to heat and cool our house. Pretty exciting!!
I'm standing where the garage will be looking out to where our driveway comes in.

Trenches for Geothermal.

What's been on our mind these days?

It's begun....the excavator has been out, and the ground is ready for our new house!!!! It's the hot topic at our house these days. What kind of lighting do we want, appliances, cupboards, and the list goes on. It's all very very exciting, but a lot of decisions. So, I will keep you posted with the newest pictures, but i will need your advice as well. Right now, i'm trying to decide which appliances to use. Stainless steel or fake stainless steel. As well, what colour of siding. I wish i could show you my samples, but i can't. Anyways, here's some pictures of the first steps. Couldn't keep his eyes off of it!

Where is the excavator Isaac?

Isaac and our builder Daryl Winter

We are heading out there tomorrow, so new pictures coming soon!
