Last Skate

We went for our last skate on our rink Saturday morning. I think we used our rink a lot this winter, and made a lot of memories!

We also set up a little garden inside. I wanted to try and plant some tomato's and green peppers and a few flowers early and see how they turn out. We also planted some monster pumpkins.

The kids had a lot of fun. We also pulled out Brad's old quad from when he was little this weekend. It's a 1984 yamaha. It's pretty old and beat up but it was a lot of fun trying to get it started and only to have it run for a min....and then do it all over again. we're hoping to get a carborator for it then it should run a lot more smoothly.

Isaac

Isaac participated in the Lashburn Skating Carnival this last Sunday. It was so great to watch him skate with the other kids in his level.  Just yesterday he passed level 2, received his badge and is now working on level 3.  We're pretty proud of him, considering he was only walking on the ice when he started and he's now in level 3!!

I have yet to download my video of the carnival buet here's a few pictures of isaac getting ready. I forgot to give the camera to brad, who was at ice level, so we only have video of him skating.

Yesterday Isaac and Autumn wanted to do some painting

yup, he's left handed!

Total concentration on his face :)

Well it's a snow day here today...it's been snowing pretty hard all morning! If it wasn't so windy I'd send the kids out to play, hopefully this afternoon will be better.

Hockey Day in Canada

I know, it's terrible! I haven't blogged since October of last year. However, now that i've finally sat down and put up a new post, i hope it will motivate me to be consistent. Life has been good. We have been enjoying out outdoor rink a lot. There have been a few weeks this winter of -40 to -50 temperatures but other than that, it's been pretty mild with next to NO snow. It better be a wet spring or we're gonna have some pretty upset farmers and some upset campers with fire restrictions. We have some pretty big cracks in the ground in our yard from the dry weather conditions.

Anyways, here are some pics of us on the rink Brad made for us. I have to find some skates so i enjoy it more, and Autumn too!

Isaac has been taking skating lessons since September and we've seen some great results. He can now skate around the rink quite fast for being 4, and can jump, turn in circles and is learning to skate backwards. We're really proud of him!
Hockey Day in Canada was spent outside on our outdoor rink!
Hudson gets in on the action too!

We've had a moose hanging around for a few days. So after the second day of watching her Isaac decided to name her Alexander. She even wanted to go for a skate on our rink!
Autumn loves to wear her "pretty" dress. So some mornings she'll come running out of her room yelling, "pretty, pretty" with a dress in her hands. Here she is in a few of her dresses.

 Isaac is getting so big!

And we've had some pretty great sunsets our our front living room window! What a great way to end a day :)
Now, i promise you i will have another blog update next week ;)

Enjoying the Autumn season

We've been keeping busy these days. Mom was up for 4 weeks to be in Edmonton with Laura but was able to stop by our house for a few days too. We were able to make some yummy apple sauce. We made the regular apple sauce, strawberry apple, and blueberry apple. Yummy!
We were excited to head to the Crowsnest Pass for Thanksgiving with Brad's family. It was a very relaxing time in the mountains.

Autumn is becoming a little more independant. This day she wanted to wear only these clothes....she looks cute now, but hopefully when she's 16 her choice of clothes to wear will be a little more tastefull.

Isaac was so excited to carve the pumpkins...we ended up carving them a few weeks before Halloween.

We went up to meet little Grace in Bonnyville for her baby shower. Isaac and Autumn both love Grace. Isaac was so gentle with her and Autumn always wantin to be right beside her.

Isaac and Autumn cuddlin on the couch in the morning :)
Now we're off to Manitoba for a week...it's Brad first week of holidays he's taken this year, so we're super excited to go on a holiday

I LOVE THIS SEASON

We named our girl Autumn because it is Brad and my favorite time of the year. The colours are breathtaking and the air is fresh from harvest. We love it...and living in the country is even better! Although the mountains look like they're on fire right now too! So i've started decorating the house for the season.  One thing I've done is make a wreath. It's my first Pinterest craft done!
I used some burlap leftover from a friends wedding, bought the leafs at Dollarama, and hung it all on a coat hanger. Pretty sweet wreath for a buck, eh?

Here's some photos from our walk the other night...we love going on family walks out into the pasture. God has created such a beautiful masterpiece.
