We Miss You Daddy!

Isaac and I headed home to Vernon a week earlier than Brad to get some extra visiting in with the grandparents. It's been great so far, but it's weird being here with Isaac and no Brad. So here are some pictures to show Brad and the rest of the family! Brad's family came for a visit to see the new baby. It's been such a blessing to have so much family visiting and helping us get through these first few crazy weeks! Thanks so much everyone. Grandma Rempel was a huge help...thank you so much!

I love it when he falls asleep in my arms!
Auntie Darcie meeting Isaac for the first time!

He looks so cute in red!

We miss you Daddy! Can't wait to see you soon!

What a busy week!

I can finally sit down and put some more pictures and the "baby birth story" on the blog. Thankfully my sister Laura has been able to post some initial pictures for me, but here are a few more cute ones that we took today and last night. I'm so glad we have a digital camera to capture all these great shots!

Our Christmas blessing!

Proud Grandma Weglo!

Proud parents!

At 3:35 am on Wednesday morning my water broke. We called the hospital and they said to come as soon as we could. We gathered our things and got to the hospital at 4:30. We just took our time because I wasn't having any contractions. Once we got to the hospital we found out that the baby had pooped, thus meconium inside of me. This was not a good thing obviously, so when the doctor arrived at 9:00am he attached a "thing" to the baby's head to monitor the exact heart rate of Isaac. I had yet to have a contraction, but once the doctor attached the wire thing I instantly started to have contractions every minute to minute and a half. Not fun. They were going to start me on a drip to get the contractions going but there was no need. I was soon moved into the delivery room to wait for my epidural. By noon I was already 5 cm. The epidural came just before two, and I was pretty much given full dosage, because I kept feeling the contractions. By 2:15 I was pushing, feeling nothing=)...gotta love those drugs. The doctor was called and we were waiting for him to come so that I could finisher delivery. He came just after 3:00 and Isaac was born at 3:19 pm. It was such an easy labour. We were even laughing between pushes. Little did i know the discomfort that came once the epidural wore off. I would have to say these last few days, and still now I am in more pain than Wednesday. I can't wait to feel "normal" again.

Isaac has been feeding well, and we're working on getting him on a feeding schedule. Right now he seems to think that he should sleep lots during the day and be wide awake in the night!

Overall he's a great baby and is very strong already. When he's awake, he moves his head around so much and is very active with his hands.
I better get back...hope you enjoy the pictures!

It's Done!

The baby's room is finally done...well except for the blinds. Hopefully we can get those set up tonight. I've hung a few frames (yet to be filled by our little one) and a few pictures and shelves. We're pretty excited for this baby to come anytime!

Our crib, and change table/dresser. oohh...i better blow up that change mattress too eh?=)

This is the rocking chair that Brad's parents bought for us...pretty comfy!

Here are some cute old lookin' pictures I found at Home Hardware in Lloyd. They're so cute!
And a few little shelves for now. I would like to get more pictures and decor but I want to wait to see if we have a boy of girl first!

Here I am with only 9 days to go!!!
So now I want your guesses... boy or girl?

Preparations have finally begun!

Brad and I had a very succesfull trip to Edmonton. We finally purchased some major items for the babies room. It took us all day Monday to put it all together, but we pulled it off....no thanks to Hudson always being in the way. So now we have everything set up and put away, I just need to decorate the walls. I'm hoping to do that tomorrow, so you'll have a finished look soon! But here are a few pictures to let you know how the progress is going.

I didn't just sit around the whole time=) It's been hard for me to not get involved as much as I use to. I don't like having to rely on others to help me get things done around the house. I can still manage a lot but I have to wait for Brad to get home to help me move anything around to organize.

Brad did great putting together the crib, dresser and rocking chair. Thanks Brad! As you can see Hudson was always in the way!

The finished product. I'm very happy with it. Notice the colour of the walls. It's so nice to have a room a different colour than the rest of the entire house.

Here's the diaper bag and all the clothes laid out to be put in the bag for the hospital. Now I just need to pack my bag=)

There's still a lot more to do. It's a tiny babies room, so I won't be able to do all that I had imagined, but I don't think the baby will mind having a small room, for the first few years anyways.

Retirement Party!

My dad finally retired! My dad put in 33 years with radio broadcasting, and we got to throw him a party celebrating those 33 years of hard work! My mom worked really hard in planning the party and preparing all the food as well as sending out all the invitations. We had over 70 people in the church gymnasium, all there to celebrate with my dad. It was a great night with great food, and great fellowship.

We decorated the place in the old "CJIB" colours. Believe it or not the carpet in the CJIB building was yellow, red and black. Pretty 70's .

Dad was pretty embarrassed when we played his old audition tape from his early years. It was also fun to hear some bloopers, and make some good fun of dad!

We all dressed up in dad's old radio shirts! It was alot of fun. Notice Laura's shirt (DJ"s make better lovers)

A good friend Debbie made this chocolate card for my dad, it was great! Altogether it was a great night, one that was well deserved!

First Floor

I've somewhat finished organizing the first floor of our house, so I thought I'd share some pictures.
Brad relaxing in the living room, which is just to the right as you enter the front door.
The view from the living room into the kitchen.

Hudson, always wanting to play!
Here I am at 35 weeks...only 5 more weeks to go!! We're praying that Hudson will be good when the baby comes!35 weeks means stretch marks=(

That's right, we had snow on Friday Oct 26. Hudson loved it.

That's it for now...more to come!

Our Trip to Lloydminster

Finally I have a few minutes to sit down and post some pictures. Although I do have boxes that need unpacking, clothes that need to be folded and a dog anxious to play, but I will take a few minutes to get some posted anyways. We had a great drive up to Lloydminster. It was for sure not the smoothest ride or the shortest but it was fun! Unfortunately U-Haul was not a great service to us, and caused much anxiety, but in the end it all worked out. We got a 26 foot truck but for sure didn't need that much room. Thanks to a group of friends from the church we had her packed up in an hour.We stayed overnight just outside of Calgary at a camp that Brad went to for trainnig for his missions trips. He woke up early the Sunday morning and took some great shots!

Thankfully we had Josh and Laura as well as some men from the church help us unload and again it only took an hour. It was great. The day didn't go as we had planned. Unfortunately some paper work still had to go through and the place was left very dirty so we never moved in till 6 pm, but I was just so happy to have everything in the house and to be able to sleep back in our own bed...in our new house!!! There was a lot to unpack, and it was overwhelming. The hard part was not being able to lift many boxes.

Josh and Brad taking a break from all the unloading.

Thankfully, the next weekend was Thanksgiving in Bonnyville. It was great to have my family out to see our place and enjoy a great Thanksgiving meal made by mom at Josh and Laura's house . She made some great meals that weekend...sorry Jason and Darcie=(

After dinner, we enjoyed just haning out, making virgin margaritas and dessert!! mmmmmm...sooo good! We sure missed the rest of the Weglo family...including Jackson, who we phoned a few times!

Oh, I had to post this picture for Mom, cause she made this yummy sweet potato dish, and yet it was left in the microwave till the next morning. Mom, you did a great job with all those meals. Thanks so much!

I don't have a new belly shot right now, but I will post one soon. But to close off this post I want to leave you with a funny picture of a potato. I say it looks like a rhino...any other imaginative ideas out there?

Pictures of the house coming soon!!!!
